Rules & Regulations

Rules & Regulations

Those placed 1st – 4th in each age section of both Groups AND Troupes, along with those receiving the Adjudicator’s Choice award go through to the fantastic Blackpool Grand Final in November!

Please do not enter the heats unless you are willing to participate in the Grand Final. Should your group be one of the lucky ones placed, we assume that by entering the heats, your aim is to do so. Your place in the Grand Final is only secure when re-entry fees have been paid. Until then, the producer reserves the right to offer your place to the next highest scoring group in your heat.

Competitors are judged on lots of different things – it’s not all about technique! Marks will be given for pres-entation, execution, timing, originality, choreographic content, musicality, positioning, synchronicity and more!

Finalists are permitted to change music, costumes, choreography, and increase the number of performers within their group for the Grand Final, but should remain within the same age category they qualified in.

The highest scoring group from the Tinies, Juvenile, Junior and U12’s Beginners/High School categories will be crowned ‘Dance Challenge UK Junior Supreme Champions’ and receive the overall winner’s prize of £1,000. The highest scoring group from the Seniors, Adult, Open and Over 12’s Beginners/High School categories will be crowned ‘Dance Challenge UK Senior Supreme Champions 2017’ and receive the overall winner’s prize of £1,000.

Music should be age appropriate with no explicit lyrics. Music deemed by the producers as unsuitable will not be allowed at any stage of the competition.

The producers are not responsible for any injury caused while performing your act. Choreography including stunts, acrobatics, gymnastics etc are done at your own risk. Please familiarise yourself with stage dimensions prior to your performance to assess if these can be performed safely.

Use of props is allowed during your performance, but please make us aware of this beforehand. It is the school’s responsibility to position large props on the stage, and remove them again at the end of your act. Hand held props should be cleared as your group leaves the stage, ready for the next group to perform.

You must abide by LEA legislation if required. You will be guided by the producer, who will liaise with your LEA for you if required.

Photography, videography or recording on mobile phones or other devices is strictly prohibited at all events. There will be a professional photographer on hand all day to capture your group’s special moments on stage. Photographs will be available to view and purchase after the event.

Our adjudicators know what they are looking for and their decision is final. Good Luck everybody!
